Cinema and Resistance
Cinema and Resistance is a monthly screening series that highlights contemporary social issues through documentary filmmaking. Each event features a politically engaged film — The Pickers by Elke Sasse, Uprisings by Thomas Lacoste, and FARC Guerrilla, The Future Has a History — exploring realities tied to social struggles, workers’ rights, and resistance movements.
Conceived as a space for collective reflection, the series invites audiences to deepen their understanding of activism across different forms and contexts. Following each screening, guest speakers take part in a moderated discussion, offering critical perspectives and opening a dialogue with the audience.
Through these gatherings, Cinema and Resistance aims to create a space for exchange where cinema becomes a starting point to think, question, and debate today’s social issues — and, ultimately, to take action.
