Algiers, winter 2003. The mother, the daughter, and the whore have been living in a downtown hotel since the terrorist violence began. Goucem, the daughter, has built herself an independent life, splitting her time between a job at a photographer's studio and nights out at clubs. Fifi, her loyal friend, works as a prostitute. Papicha, the mother, picks at pizza in front of the TV, torn between fear and nostalgia for her past fame as a cabaret dancer. And even though death stalks them, insidious and relentless, they say no to it!
