About

LES NUITS DE LA 4e DIMENSION presents
URBAN FLESH (1999) by Alexandre Michaud

Featuring MARTIN DUBREUIL, ALEXANDRE MICHAUD and other special guests!

WARNING: This film contains disturbing scenes

Actor Martin Dubreuil is now considered a major figure in Quebec cinema. From Pierre Falardeau to Anne Émond, he has appeared in the works of some of the biggest talents from here. His dizzying filmography includes more than a hundred titles, including the cult classic LES 7 JOURS DU TALION (2010) and the unforgettable SOLEILS ATIKAMEKW (2023). No matter the role, this remarkably versatile actor always shines with his talent.

So what exactly is he doing at LES NUITS DE LA 4e DIMENSION? Dubreuil, you see, has a dark past. Long before FÉLIX & MEIRA in 2014, he appeared in the sleaziest genre film in local history. Directed by Alexandre Michaud, this shoestring production proved so disturbing that it was banned in three countries. Its reputation as the ultimate gore film has earned it legendary status. At the time, dubious copies were passed around among collectors. On October 1, Cinéma du Parc is proud to present the extremely rare URBAN FLESH (1999) on the big screen!

Awful, dirty and mean, this handcrafted gem follows a band of anarchists driven by depravity. The plot hangs by a thread, with every scene serving as an excuse for excess. URBAN FLESH drips with it from start to finish. Its laughably small budget stands in stark contrast to its furious determination to shock and offend. Literally no taboo is safe. Martin Dubreuil, in his feature-film debut, delivers his most deranged performance. Alongside him, singer Marc Vaillancourt of the band B.A.R.F. tears up the screen. Shot in apartments that would be unaffordable in 2026, URBAN FLESH is an infernal triumph of DIY filmmaking, the ultimate middle finger to the arbiters of good taste.

Martin Dubreuil, Alexandre Michaud and several special guests will be on hand to share the story behind this cursed film. During this unmissable evening, you’ll also have the chance to discover the unpredictable NOUS D’EUX. Written and directed by Dubreuil, this short film, once met with ovations at SPASM and Fantasia, offers the most terrifying interpretation of Léo Ferré. Anyone who champions the underground should be at this special screening!
