Synopsis
Suffering from acute kidney failure, Uncle Boonmee has chosen to spend his final days surrounded by his loved ones in the countryside. Surprisingly, the ghost of his deceased wife appears to care for him, and his long lost son returns home in a non-human form. Contemplating the reasons for his illness, Boonmee treks through the jungle with his family to a mysterious hilltop cave – the birthplace of his first life…

About Caroline Monnet
Caroline Monnet is a multidisciplinary artist of Anishinaabe and French descent, originally from the Outaouais region, who lives and works in Montreal. Her film work has been presented at numerous festivals around the world, including the Toronto International Film Festival (Canada), the Sundance Film Festival (Utah, United States), the Berlin International Film Festival (Germany), the Göteborg Film Festival (Sweden), and the International Film Festival Rotterdam (the Netherlands).
Monnet was also selected for the Cinéfondation residency in Paris as part of the Cannes Film Festival. She is a recipient of the Sundance Institute’s Merata Mita Fellowship and has been named a Companion of the Order of Arts and Letters of Quebec.
