This screening is part of Regards croisés, a project that brings together Francophone filmmakers through their films and artistic approaches. The project is presented in collaboration with the RIDM, with support from the Conseil des arts de Montréal.

PROGRAM :
1. L’ÎLE AUX TRÉSORS (2026)
Summer 1993. Marthe, 12, convinces her brother to run away from home and from the Haitian heritage they both reject. Joined by their cousins in a park, they debate what their future might hold. But as the hours pass, the children begin to realize that what they’re trying to escape is also what binds them together most deeply.
2. CHANSON POUR LE NOUVEAU MONDE (2021)
Years after the disappearance of her father in Scotland, a young woman recalls her childhood on a Caribbean island.
3. VOLE, VOLE TRISTESSE (2015)
Following a nuclear explosion that transforms the voices of all the inhabitants of an island, a Finnish journalist travels there to find a hermit with mysterious powers.
4. DREI ATLAS (2018)
A maid is suspected of murdering her former employer. Questioned by the police, she reveals the existence of a supernatural power.
5. SECOND GENERATION (2019)
A few days before her wedding, a young woman learns that her fiancé is accused of sexual assault. She travels to Haiti to confront the alleged victim.
6. VERS LES COLONIES (2016)
When a young girl is found off the Venezuelan coast, a medical examiner tries to determine the cause of death before the body is repatriated.
7. TOUS LES JOURS DE MAI (2023)
After making a documentary about her daughter’s death, a mother reflects on her own life and, above all, the passage of time.
8. UNE FORTERESSE (2018)
After the death of their adopted daughter, a couple travels to Haiti in search of her relatives. There, they meet a DNA specialist who may possess the power to resurrect the dead.
