About

PREMIERE
With director and co-screenwriter Pat Mire, co-screenwriter Rebecca Hudsmith, actors Zachary Richard and Michael Bienvenu, as well as editor Maxime-Claude L’Écuyer.

Synopsis
Joel Richard, a falsely accused Cajun man on Death Row, faces execution for a double murder in the rural French Louisiana community of Pointe Noire. Criminal defense lawyer Dolores Arceneaux agrees to represent him to try to save his life. She returns to her family home in Pointe Noire where she enlists renown documentary filmmaker Louis Leger to help her find out what really happened 30 years ago when two people were killed on the night of the traditional courir de Mardi Gras.  What they uncover is a hauntingly beautiful, isolated community suffering from genetic bottlenecking, secrecy and deceit, yet striving to achieve its own form of folk justice.
