Montreal, to visit him. Accompanied by her girlfriend, Madeleine, the young woman is shocked upon arrival when her mother, Thérèse, informs her that her father died a few days earlier. The troubling circumstances of his death and her mother's erratic behavior lead Isabelle to suspect that something is amiss in this isolated, economically depressed former forest village. As strange incidents multiply, the young woman begins to unravel the mystery of Saint-Étienne and its inhabitants. What she discovers is even more sinister and horrifying than anything she could have imagined.
