Meissy is over the moon when her father reappears after years of absence and she’s enchanted by his fast-paced, imaginative vagabond life, filled with origami cranes and extraordinary encounters. Despite what her mother tries to make her understand, Meissy believes he simply has an overactive imagination. But it soon becomes clear that he actually sees strange things, plagued by hallucinations and delusions of grandeur that aren’t always joyful. This important film approaches timely themes—poverty and mental vulnerability—in a playful, light-hearted way, while showing that people experiencing homelessness are, above all, people like everyone else.
