Il respiro di Shlomo is a powerful Italian documentary about Shlomo Venezia, a Holocaust survivor and member of the Sonderkommando at Auschwitz. Through his voice and memories recorded years ago, he recounts his harrowing experience in the crematoria, guiding viewers through the places of his arrest and deportation. The film weaves his direct testimony with historians’ analyses to convey the horror of extermination and the vital importance of remembrance—especially for younger generations—without ever resorting to sensationalism.
