François, a 50-year-old screenwriter in professional decline, cynically checks the “transgender” box to improve his chances of securing funding for his latest TV series project. When, against all expectations, his plan works and the project is approved, he finds himself having to become… Françoise, a female author beginning her transition.
Unable to fulfill the role on his own, he must team up with Sarah, a real trans writer. In the guise of Françoise, François finally achieves success. His bank account fills up, and he reconnects with his teenage daughter… but as his deception drags on, the price becomes heavier than expected: his most genuine relationships are built around his new identity. Françoise frees him just as much as she traps him.
