Raised in a modest background, Hélène left the Vosges region long ago. Now in her forties, a sudden burnout forces her to leave Paris and return to where she grew up, between Nancy and Épinal. She settles there with her family, finds a good job, and enjoys a better quality of life. One evening, in the parking lot of a chain restaurant, she spots a familiar face: Christophe Marchal, the handsome hockey player from her high school days.
