2001: L'ODYSSÉE DE L'ESPACE

This film is part of the FILM WITH STYLE series, produced in collaboration with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

In the year 2001, a huge monolith is discovered on the surface of the Moon emitting strange signals appearing to come from Jupiter. A space expedition is sent to that planet to investigate. During the journey, the ship’s supercomputer, HAL, turns against the two-man crew, killing one of them. The surviving crew member takes back control of the ship only to suffer hallucinations and succumb, in turn, as he achieves the actual goal of the mission. 

The screenings will include a 15-minute intermission.
