Synopsis

As part of the screening series around IN DIALOGUE: MONIA CHOKRI AND NAHUEL PÉREZ BISCAYART, presented in partnership with the CINEMANIA Festival.

An event designed as a conversation about the craft of acting, featuring Monia Chokri, this year’s guest of honor at the festival, and Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, member of CINEMANIA’s Short Film Jury.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Nahuel Pérez Biscayart.

Synopsis: Paris, early 1990s. Nathan, a 26-year-old gay man, joins the Paris branch of ACT UP, a group of activists fighting against AIDS. Their mission: to raise awareness among young people about the importance of condom use and to stage bold actions to push the government and pharmaceutical companies to act. Over the course of meetings and demonstrations, the HIV-negative young man falls in love with Sean, one of the group’s most radical members, who has developed the disease.
