Notre quartier, notre cinéma : 25 ans du Cinéma Beaubien

This fall, Cinéma Beaubien celebrates its 25th anniversary with a special program revisiting the Quebec films that have shaped its history. Over the coming weeks, rediscover 12 beloved Quebec films, each presented in a single screening and accompanied by a discussion with a member of the film’s team.

To mark the occasion, tickets will be offered at the price they were 25 years ago, just $9!

The celebrations will officially kick off on September 18 and 19 at Parc Molson as part of the neighbourhood celebration L’ÉTÉ QUI RESTE. The festivities will include activities for the whole family, music and culinary discoveries, before wrapping up the weekend with an outdoor screening of the iconic C.R.A.Z.Y., featuring actress Danielle Proulx, co-screenwriter François Boulay and actor Émile Vallée, son of the late director Jean-Marc Vallée, in attendance.

The film will be preceded by the short film Le Projectionniste, directed by the Salle 6 Collective, made up of several current and former Cinéma Beaubien employees and filmed at the cinema.

Starting September 19, a permanent exhibition will also be unveiled at the cinema. La traversée d’un cinéma de quartier, created by Caroline Martel, will commemorate the history of Beaubien in the heart of the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough, inviting audiences to travel through the cinema’s different eras, from its opening in 1937 to the present day.
