BRAZILIAN FILM FESTIVAL IN MONTREAL

Date

From Oct 24 to Oct 30, 2025

Location

Cinéma du Parc

The 19th edition of the Brazilian Film Festival of Montreal celebrates the richness and diversity of contemporary Brazilian cinema, with a selection of ten remarkable films, all acclaimed at international festivals.

Opening the festival, THE SECRET AGENT, Brazil’s official entry for the Oscars, takes us on a thrilling ride. The selection also includes MANAS and THE BLUE TRAIL, two powerful works exploring memory and identity, as well as poetic creations like LE LOUP ET LES CYGNES and cultural tributes, including a vibrant portrait of Mauricio de Souza.

From the inspiring struggle of VITÓRIA led by Fernanda Montenegro, to Dira Paes’ first socially engaged film (PASÁRGADA), and through sensitive explorations of disability (90 DÉCIBELS), the voice of the Yanomami (KOPENAWA: RÊVER LA TERRE-FORÊT), or artistic friendship (3 OBÁS DE XANGÔ), this program showcases the vitality, boldness, and creativity of Brazilian cinema, which continues to shine on the international stage. Each film is an invitation to explore diverse worlds, marvel at their artistry, and share in the emotion and richness of Brazilian cinema today.

Join us from October 24 to 30!
